About Po

If anyone knows of a couple with no kids or other pets and NOT planning to have any, or an older person looking for a companion please message me. We are NOT simply getting rid of Po to anyone. He is my sweetest boy and this is the hardest and saddest thing to even think of. But he simply is NOT thriving or adapting to us having a baby at all. It has been 7 months since we brought the baby home. We are more than willing to even do a transition period and if he doesn’t warm up to his new home we will take him back! We do NOT want to get rid of him, but he spends all day and night in his litter closet hiding. And that breaks my heart, that’s not a life. 100% transparency, he does not like many people, he takes a while to warm up. He will most definitely not like whoever takes him at first, and will need someone who is patient and willing to build a relationship with him on his terms. BUT when you’re his people he is the sweetest most affectionate cuddly boy. He is hilarious, he loves playing, especially with toys. He loves sitting in the windows, and he LOVES eating and will try to trick you into feeding him multiple meals. We’ve tried calming pheromones, anxiety treats, blocking off the areas he could hide, bringing him around the baby when he’s quiet and calm and Po is just NOT coping, the second the baby even takes a deep breath Po is OUT. Even when the baby is napping Po won’t come out of the closet. If i block the closet he will hide under the cat bed or couch cushions in a ball. He is insanely stressed and not at all able to live the way he used to. Vet check ruled out any health issues. It is all related to baby. The week we were away in Mexico he came out and was loving to our friend caring for him. He’s always been a scaredy cat, but I just don’t see him coming around to the baby. It’s been 7 months. If the circumstances are not what I think he needs, we will be keeping him and hoping he eventually comes around, this is not just a get him off our hands post. I’m desperately searching for a cat person with the right circumstances that’s willing to take a chance and help my boy.

Houser is part of a bonded pair with his little sister Layla. Houser is a 2.5 year old male tabby cat, who is neutered. Houser is very easy going and calm. He loves to cuddle in the morning and play with his little sister Layla. Houser can mostly be found relaxing and soaking up the sun. Houser is a friend to all, gets along with other cats, dogs, children and bunnies! Layla is 1.5 year old female black cat, who is spade. Layla can be shy at first and once she is comfortable she is very chatty and her special talent is chirping while watching birds. Layla is more reserved and will cuddle on her own terms, while Houser loves to be held and snuggle often. Layla is also well acclimated to befriending all life, cats, dogs, bunnies and children. Layla is not fond of car rides, nail trimming or brushing. While Houser does not mind any of those things. Houser is fearless and takes on the world with confidence, Layla tends to be his little black shadow following in his footsteps with a little bit more curiosity than courage. They are both fully litter trained and have had no issues with peeing anywhere. They are gentle of furniture as well. Together, they make a great pair as they love to play and snuggle. These two are amazing cats who would be a great addition to any home with the right people.
